The Art of Crochet

I crocheted this chicken using a technique I had never tried before which is African Crochet which is where you piece together multiple of the same 6 sided crochet piece that resembles a flower in the center. I was pretty proud of this one because I had never done this style of crochet before but also because there was no pattern available so I had to figure out how to piece together the flowers to get this result. I made this as a gift to my boyfriends mother because she loves chickens and has a lot of chicken related items so I figured it was something I could make myself that she would appreciate, she ended up really loving it and I later got a picture of it placed directly in the center of his parents bed! I was glad she appreciated it so much and that appreciation is part of why I love making things for other people.
